When you create a trip, we store only what's needed to run that trip:
We do not require sign-up, do not use social login, and do not access your contacts or device data.
Solely to provide the expense-splitting and settlement features you're using — calculating balances, generating reports, and keeping your trip in sync across devices in real time.
Trip data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), and also cached locally in your browser's storage so the app works offline. Firestore access rules are configured so that only someone holding your exact trip link can read or write that trip's data — trips cannot be browsed, listed, or discovered by anyone else.
If you choose to upgrade to Pro, payment is processed entirely by Gumroad. We never see or store your card details. Gumroad issues you a license key, which our server verifies before activating Pro features — we don't store the key anywhere ourselves beyond your own browser.
Trip data is kept for as long as the trip exists. If a trip's admin resets or deletes the trip, the data is removed. We don't run any automatic time-based deletion — your trip persists until you choose to remove it.
We do not sell, rent, or share your trip data with advertisers or data brokers. The only third-party services involved are Google Firebase (data storage), Cloudflare (hosting and security), and Gumroad (payment processing for Pro upgrades) — each only processes what's strictly necessary to deliver the service.
